Andrew Bond gave this statement to TWiSK …
“With nominations opening this week I feel now is the right time to announce that I have made the decision not to stand again at this year’s City of Port Phillip elections.
“Having been first elected in 2012 as the sole Councillor for Junction Ward, before being re-elected in 2016, and again in 2020 to represent Lake Ward, I have had the honour of representing St Kilda continuously for the past 12 years.
“In that time there have been many changes, challenges and achievements in St Kilda, however St Kilda has never failed to shock, surprise, and often make you smile.
“To those who have announced that they are running for election in St Kilda already, I commend you all for doing so. It’s not easy to put yourself out there so publicly, and very few have what it takes to do so.
“To the eventual winner I wish you all the best for your 4 year term representing what I believe is the greatest location in Australia to represent as a Councillor.”
