Pledges, promises, and support – it’s all part of the show. Here’s a list of the funding pledges that local candidates have announced so far, listed in order of value. Updated 21 Apr 25

Labor

$30.1 million to restore Adass Israel Synagogue, Ripponlea.
Funding has been confirmed by the Australian Government. This is not an election commitment.
$12.5 million toward ANAM’s refurbishment and renewal of the South Melbourne Town Hall.
This is in addition to $12.5 million committed by the Commonwealth Government in 2019, bringing a total investment from Canberra to $25 million.
$1.5 million for CCTV to tackle crime across Macnamara 
$400,000 to support the fit-out and programs for the newly built Port Phillip EcoCentre.
$250,000 to JOY Media, located at the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda.
Australia’s LGBTIQA+ radio station will receive funding towards its programming.
$60,000 towards See Yup Temple in South Melbourne.
Funding will go towards restoring the See Yup Temple in South Melbourne after it was damaged by a fire.

Liberal

$35 million commitment to rebuild the Adass Israel Synagogue.
$520,000 in funding for CCTV cameras in crime hotspots.
$500,000
Upgrading Elwood Park Pavilion.
The funding will complete the first stage of the redevelopment of the pavilion.
$150,000 for anti-hooning cameras on Beach Road.
The installation and maintenance of noise-activated cameras on Beach Road and Beaconsfield Parade to deter and police hoon driving.

Greens (pledges of support)

$35 million to restore Adass Israel Synagogue
$12.5 million for the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) at South Melbourne Town Hall
$12 million to Save Windsor Community Childcare Centre
$12 million to St Kilda Primary School to build a new school hall.
$10 million for Albert Park Lake & Grounds
To restore water levels, remove harmful sludge, and upgrade sports and community spaces
$400,000 to support the fit-out and programs for the newly built Port Phillip EcoCentre.
Plan to establish 6 new FREE local healthcare clinics across Macnamara
