Labor promises a Citizen Science Lab at the EcoCentre

As we count down to the opening of the redeveloped EcoCentre, Labor has pledged extra funds to fit out a citizen science lab.

A re-elected Albanese Government will commit $400,000 towards Australia’s first Citizen Science Lab at the soon-to-be-completed EcoCentre.

This election pledge is in addition to the $7.1 million already invested by the City of Port Phillip and the Victorian Government.

Announcing the pledge, Josh Burns, MP for Macnamara, said, “The EcoCentre is the heart of community-led climate action, sustainability, and education in Port Phillip. While the building is nearly finished, this investment will go towards filling this upgraded community hub with all the equipment it needs to house Australia’s first Citizen Science Lab.”

EcoCentre President Jan Cossar said the EcoCentre will now be more ready than ever to equip everyone to take action.
