Residents of Port Phillip (RoPP) have announced four candidates for the local government elections to be held in October.
The two current RoPP councillors Rhonda Clark and Christina Sirakoff are yet to declare their intentions – they have until the 24 September nomination deadline to decide.
Now nine single member wards
State government laws now require all Councils to have single councillor wards – in Port Phillip this means nine new wards will each elect one councillor. See new ward map
TWiSK expects that most wards will have at least 4 candidates. Voting is compulsory and will be conducted exclusively by postal vote before 25 October.
It’s very unlikely that any candidate will get a majority of votes, so preferences will be crucial in the final outcomes.
