Stephen returns to George Lane for one Melbourne show only to celebrate the release of his new EP Joy which features profoundly moving reinterpretations of four of his favourite Australian songs: “Living in the Balance” (originally by Dag, 2021), “Unfamiliar Ground” (Jess Ribeiro, 2015), “No Word from China” (Pel Mel, 1980) and “Fly Without Its Wings” (Mike Rudd’s Spectrum, 1971).

The Honey Sliders are Danny Widdicombe (guitar, vocals), Bos Borley (bass, visuals), Dan Mansfield (keys, guitar, vocals), and Ben Carstens (drums, vocals). For this show, they’ve enlisted the help of Dana Gehrman (harmonica, vocals), Michel Rose (pedal steel), and Luke ‘Fiddleboy’ Moller (fiddle, mandolin, banjo, vocals), plus a special appearance from the band’s roadie Ben Mallon.

Following recovery from addiction and mental health challenges, he currently fronts the Chris Surgey Group (a trio with Johnny Tesoriero and Paul Slattery) and has performed with the band Spinakker.

They also perform the classic rock anthems that go with them, including hits from AC/DC, Dragon, Divinyls, Rose Tattoo, Mental As Anything, Deep Purple, Screaming Jets and the stories and songs behind Choirboys’ own journey from garage band to pub-rock icons, and being signed to iconic label Albert Productions.
